CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – For the first time in 15 years of college ratings by U.S.News & World Report, Campbellsville University has received not one, but two highest ever rankings in the 2008 judging.

In addition to being named one of the 25 best baccalaureate colleges in the south, Campbellsville University was also ranked eighth in the category of “Great Schools, Great Prices” among baccalaureate colleges of the south. Schools are only considered for this honor if ranked in or near the top in their categories.

This now nationally recognizes Campbellsville University as an “affordable” place to find your calling in Christian higher education.

President Michael V. Carter said, “This news inspires a dedication to work even harder for the students who are called to this university. I can’t think of a better way to launch our second century.

“Recognition for excellence in our academic programs and faculty validates Campbellsville University. I am deeply proud of the progress and achievement we’ve enjoyed here over the past nine years in our continuous efforts toward improving and enhancing all areas of the academic programs.”

Recent improvements in academics include additions of a bachelor of university studies degree, a social work minor and a health care management program.

Master’s programs are offered at CU in education, special education, music, social science, teaching English to speakers of other languages, business administration, church music, music education, counseling and theology.

“One thing that will never change as we grow,” said Carter, “is our dedication to a tradition of academic excellence in a Christian context.”
